📌 Where do we draw the line? A debate on ethics, conservation, and responsible keeping

I’m opening this thread to talk about something important: the responsibility that comes with our hobby. A few topics to kick off the discussion: What do you think about buying animals captured in the wild? What do you look for to try to make sure an animal is captive-bred? Do you believe that keeping certain animals at home can be positive for conservation (responsible breeding, education, etc.), or is it always a negative impact? What practices do you consider completely unacceptable (illegal trafficking, poor conditions, irresponsible releases…)? The idea is to debate respectfully and share resources, experiences, and questions about how to be as responsible as possible as hobbyists. 💬 What is, for you, the “red line” in ethics and conservation?
